Literature Text

There once was a boy who lived down the hill
Beside the intersection of Winston and Mill,
Who somehow escaped his house one day
To search for treasure, beside the bay.

He brought a looking glass and a map
Taken from his grandather's lap,
And wearing a green tattered hat
He walked the bay, and by the flat.

The weather is fair and  the skies are blue
As the eyes can see, and what's seen is true,
But his eyes are young, all they see are stars,
Unaware that he has strayed too far.

He ponders a moment, and views his map,
"Could it be that this is a trap?"
But his hope is stronger than his doubt,
So he follows the map's intriguing route.

His family, distressed, called the police
Only to hear what's known to peace,
"Your child is wandering along the bay
With a hat and a parchment, from what they say."

He continues to walk until he knows
That he's on the spot where the map's X shows
His treasure to be here, and so he proclaims,
"I've found it, I've found it!" and ends his game.

He pulls out his shovel and his glass
to determine the spot beside the grass
Where he knows the treasure to be found
Is here and no where else around.

Digging and digging, he encounters a THUMP,
Startling his senses, making him jump,
He tries to retrieve the reason for the sound,
Until he hears, "The boy has been found!"

"I was trying to find what's on the map,
That I have taken from my grandpa's lap"
Was what he said in the police's car,
And the officer's eyes saw the bizarre.

He spot the hole a distance away
And went with the child to see
What he could do to help him out
So they both could leave, curiosity without.

The man, his strength, guided the search,
Because soon enough the container lurched,
And behold, the treasure had been discovered,
An eerie vibe was prominent, and hovered.

The family approaches, in their truck,
With the mom and dad, to see what went amok,
As the child and man had opened the chest,
The mystery changes, never to rest.

A grandiose light eminated from it,
Everyone in awe, seeing this chest alit,
"What could it be, is it bad?"
Is what the environs thought, their logic at hand.

Soon enough the light had gone,
Along with the power that it had drawn,
Silently gathering around the bend
the people of the town see the end.
Lol it's something I wrote one day and I finished today.
